Our Loss Of The Inner World
Our loss of the ‘Inner World’… Of course, we can’t actually ‘lose’ our inner world. Though we can, and have been trained by our culture not to honor, or give our attention to it. But – our ‘Inner World’ is who we fundamentally are. And by training us to spend all our time and mental energy focusing on, and thinking about our outer world – we have lost ourselves.

I believe that this ties directly into the Spiritually Alternative movement that is arising today. And which is growing at a surprising rate. Because, losing the essence of who and what you are, is not a sustainable state of being! And so, a New Mythology is being born right now, within our midst. Not because people are necessarily consciously rejecting the old religious worldviews. But because our world has changed so rapidly and fundamentally, that for ever increasing numbers of them, the old religions ‘outwardly focused’ viewpoints are simply no longer serving them. (Constantly telling them that all Divinity is outside themselves – rather than inside themselves.) It is no longer nourishing a positive connection to, and experience of their inner world. But is focusing them in the wrong direction. And – as I see it, their inner worlds are actually rebelling against this. Due to a deeper inner need.
For so many, the need to reconnect with the other half of themselves has become crucial. And, also, for many – transformational. And in many if not most cases, the people turning their attention inward, and becoming ‘Spiritual-But-Not-Religious’ are not consciously seeking a ‘better way’. But, are experiencing an unconscious inner shift that happens TO them. That they sometimes even fight against for a time. Because it goes against the norms that they formerly based their lives on. And having the core foundations of your life and worldview rather suddenly crumble within you, is often a very uncomfortable process indeed.
This may well be the reason that this leaderless ‘movement’ is so quiet. Because it is actually more like a culture wide perturbation process. Happening individually, within the inner world of each person. And in their experience, this often sudden shift can rapidly turn them into a ‘Stranger in a Strange Land’. No longer fitting into the society, or even the life-style, that they were formerly content with. And comfortable in.
But this is NOT a comfortable process. It is more like a long version of an epiphany. And inner evolution that transforms you from one type of person, into another. And that new person, can often feel very vulnerable, and suddenly very out of place, within the outer world surroundings that they were once an active part of.
And, they can’t even explain to themselves, what’s going on! They don’t know what’s going on. Partly because hardly anybody is talking about it. And, it’s not like there are churches on every corner to help support their newly emerging worldview. Though that IS what’s happening to them. That’s exactly what’s happening! A newly emerging worldview – which at first, they don’t understand. Because, it’s coming from the place that they haven’t paid much attention to before. And they don’t even know how to talk to it. But it’s coming from their Soul.
And damn! How do you talk to your Soul? Well, I guess that’ll be in the next blog post.
This one was mostly channeled. That happens to me sometimes…
